Gipsy Hill

Wearing of school uniform is compulsory across the Federation. The uniform consists of:

Foundation Stage (Nursery and Reception):

  • Blue sweatshirt with school logo
  • Green polo shirt with school logo
  • Mid grey trousers or skirts
  • Grey socks / tights
  • Black shoes (this does not include black trainers)

Rest of the School (Year 1 to Year 6):

  • Blue blazer with school badge (Green blazer for Glenbrook)
  • Grey jumper with school logo (optional wearing of jumper)
  • White shirt
  • School tie (this can be elasticated for infant pupils)
  • Mid grey trousers or skirts
  • Grey socks or tights
  • Black shoes (this does not include black trainers)

Summer Uniform

Children are allowed to wear smart grey shorts in the summer. They can also wear short sleeved white shirts with their ties. Girls have the option of wearing a grey pinafore dress during the summer, however, gingham check dresses are NOT part of our school uniform and should not be worn.

PE Kit

  • Green T-shirt with school logo
  • Blue shorts
  • Plimsolls or trainers

For safety reasons we not allow children to wear jewellery in school, the exception to this rule are ear-ring studs in pierced ears, and small objects of religious significance, such as crucifix on a chain. We ask children to either remove these objects during PE and games, or cover them with a plaster, to prevent children from injury.

It can be dangerous for children to wear shoes that have platform soles or high heels, so we do not allow children to wear such shoes in school. Similarly, in the summer months, we aim to minimise injury by asking that children wear shoes, which cover their heels and toes. We also ask parents to avoid sending children to school in lace up shoes until they are able to tie laces for themselves. This saves a lot of time when changing for PE and dance.
